Howdy, Everyone
I didn’t write for a while, was out of time
So, today I’ll try to refill those blank spots of my blogging.
About three weeks ago I wrote an article about Robert Mekis, if you remember
Well, I kind a liked that thing and decided that I should create a category “Artist” where I will be writing about people who inspire me. I browsed through my Deviant Art profile and saw a comment on one of my pictures. I knew whose comment it was, cause I saw this person’s pictures a lot of times with a jealous thoughts of how does he manage to take such architecture shots? Well, that’s his own know-how.
My business today is to show you a little piece of his artworks, cause it’s not possible to show you all of them. So, ladies and gentlemen today’s star of my blog is Thierry Gentil, better known in the world of digital art as BosniaK.
I got to know him about 2 years ago when I accidentally saw his pictures on DA. From that moment I was visiting his profile and gallery from time to time looking for updates. His profiles can be found on:
If somebody already knows, who is BosniaK, then he can just skip this section, but those, who don’t know anything about him (I don’t think there are such people) — don’t pass this section
BosniaK (Thierry Gentil) is a digital artist from France. Analyzing his artworks on deviantart (sorry, but he has no official website) gave me a lot of thoughts and one of them was that he wasn’t very famous from the beginning. His artist’s profile starts with an abstract wallpapers and digital designs. His first work was uploaded to deviantart on the 1st of May, 2001. That was a simple wallpaper in a violet colors with a woman’s eyes on it. One and a half years later he got 3000 pageviews on DA.
I think it was a really happy moment for him. In 2003 he uploaded his first underground photo shot and I think that was the moment when he really began feeling interest in photography. From time to time he was uploading photos as an alternative content to his design and wallpapers.
I think, that May of 2003 was that moment when his art totally changed and photography won the battle against digital art. He began shooting and his pictures were becoming better and better. Today BosniaK is a 8 year old member of DA, his pictures are well known and could be easily recognized because of their unusual perspective and strong saturated colors. Yes, he couldn’t deny abstraction, so after his wallpapers he began using this style in his photo shots.
What I like in his work is how reflections are playing on the glass facade of skyscrapers. His photos always have an awesome sky. On some pictures it has a very beautiful with a soft gradient + darkening in a corner. On other photos it seems that storm is coming cause sky is very emotional
Watching BosniaK’s art gives a lot of inspiration, especially for those who is fond of architectural photography or just of abstract photos.
There is no need in writing a lot about his art, because everyone will find something beautiful and useful by himself. So, I’m leaving you face to face with his art. Just promise me to look at all the pictures and while you will be watching them, think of something pure, clean and warm
Enjoy
